Chat Room.  The Chat Room utilizes "Flash" and "ActiveX" controls.  Currently, 98.7% of web users are Flash enabled.  If you are part of the 1.3% who aren't, you can get a free download of Macromedia's Flash Player below.

                                                  Download Free Macromedia Flash Player

In Internet Explorer (IE) browsers, the Flash component is an ActiveX control. So if you have "disabled" your ActiveX controls, you will get a blank screen when attempting to access the Chat.  To "enable" your ActiveX controls on your IE browser bar:

  1. Select "Tools"

  2. Select "Internet Options"

  3. Select the "Security Tab"'

  4. Select "Custom Levels"

  5. Scroll down the list and choose the radio button to enable both " Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins".

  6. Click "OK" to save your settings.

Generally speaking any newer browser version 4.X and beyond should be configured to run the Chat Room if you haven't altered the settings.  See the browser section below to upgrade your browser if you have an old browser version. A specific chat help page has been created to assist users in getting familiar with the chat room.

Browsers.  This web site is best viewed using Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6.0. Viewing is best in a 1024 X 768 resolution, but 800 X 600 resolution is also accommodated.  Use of other browsers and resolutions may result in less than optimal results and reduced functionality.

You can get a free download of the IE 6.0 and an upgrade of the Netscape browser at:

Navigation Three primary navigation areas are available on the site.  The main  category/page navigation is found on the left side of the page.  A utility bar is shown at the top of the page that navigates to minor categories (About Us;  Privacy Policy; Contact Us: Site Map and Help).  The third navigational area is located at the bottom of the page below the horizontal rule, where the main category navigation is repeated.  This area is particularly helpful on second level pages where the main categories may not be available or when the user has scrolled down a long page.  "Up" navigation is seen on second and tertiary level pages and will return the user to the previous level.  "Back to Top" bookmarks are placed on the left side of longer pages to decrease scrolling up.

Hyperlinks This web site only uses underlining to indicate either a hyperlink or a bookmark.  Underlining is not used for editorial emphasis.  All hyperlinks to other web sites will open a new window and will not replace the current window in order to not confuse the user.  Some more recent browsers (not AOL/Netscape) will be able to benefit from instructional text when their mouse is positioned over a hyperlink.

Registration of Classmate Information  This page of the site allows classmates to input information about themselves into a database and allow other classmates to view their information on-line.  A specific help page is available to provide detailed instructions on how to complete this page.

Updating Classmate Information This page provides an e-mail link that permits classmates to submit changes to the information that they registered on-line. If modifications are minor the Webmaster will make them.  If the changes desired are extensive, the Webmaster will delete the entire record, notify the classmate of the deletion by return e-mail, thereby permitting the classmate to input an updated registration form.

Read Classmate Information This page provides a list of registered classmates.  You simply click on the last name of the classmate you wish to read about.  Once clicked, the database will return the classmate's registered information.

Message Board The message board enables classmates to post messages and read others' messages.  You can "hot link" to the message board's  "Contents Page" by clicking on the "Bay High Rocket Mascot" from the "Home Room Page".  This is the fastest (fewest clicks and fastest loading pages) path to the messages. Special image and navigation free message pages have been created in order to create more room to display messages and to speed page loading of these frequently accessed pages.  The "contents" page shows a table of contents and lists all messages with the most recent message towards the top of the page.  Threaded messages are shown by indentation and a common subject line.  Threaded messages are created when users "reply" to a message rather than create a new subject line.  By following a "thread", a user can follow a series of "back and forth" comments.  An acknowledgement page will be shown to users to provide feedback that their message has been successfully posted. It may be necessary to click the "refresh" button on your browser to instantly see your posted message.

Contact Us. The contact us page offers classmates three methods to communicate with the web site and 35th Reunion Committee.  An on-line form is offered for those users who may not have an e-mail client on their system.  Additionally, a list of designated e-mails addresses is offered so users can send e-mails.  Finally, a regular U.S. Postal mailing address is listed for those preferring a non-electronic format.

When the "Contact Us Form" is utilized,  the user will receive an immediate confirmation page on the web site to acknowledge successful transmission of their form.  Additionally, users sending e-mails will receive an automated e-mail acknowledging receipt of their correspondence.  Please do not reply to these e-mails as no reply is necessary.  Additional follow-up correspondence will occur as soon as possible.

Lost and Found Form The Lost and Found Form is used to send the 35th Reunion Committee information you may have about classmates we haven't located yet.  Even a good hunch is appreciated as we try to track down and contact these friends.  When the "Lost and Found Form" is utilized, the user will receive an immediate confirmation page on the web site to acknowledge successful transmission of their form.

Photo Gallery.  The Photo Gallery offers classmates an on-line forum to post photographs featuring classmates and their families/friends.  Thumbnail photos may be enlarged by double clicking the photo of interest.  After viewing a photo, use your browser back button to return to the Photo Page.  Instructions are available to assist classmates in submitting photos for posting on the web site.

Site Map.  A Site Map is available to display the navigation structure to pages in the web site.  Once on the site map page you may click on the underlined page names to go to that page.
